Affirmations to Reverse Self Doubt

Self doubt is like that pesky little fly that you shoo away…you think it’s gone, but it just keeps coming back! Self doubt shows up for me in a big way when I step into the unfamiliar, when I am creating/ experiencing something new - when I’m totally out of my comfort zone - things can get really wobbly!

It happened just last week when I started filming the online course ‘Introduction to Mindful Living’ - that pesky fly showed up. Everything was in place and I was feeling super excited…

Filming space created (and looking beautiful I might add)

Camerawoman set up and ready to go ✔️

ACTION!

Bzzzzzz.. I don’t know exactly what came out of my mouth but it didn’t feel great, it definitely didn’t sound great and I started hearing the meany pants self-talk ramp up.

SO this is what we did… We paused filming. I went outside. I did some tapping and breathing I connected back into my Self and I wrote out the following affirmation and read it over and over…

“As I birth the new, I stay open and excited to the amazing possibilities; I move forward naturally and instinctively taking the time to check in and remain connected to myself, knowing I CAN do it with EASE! I hold a deep sense of knowingness as I take a slow breath… With self encouragement, trust and faith I remain in flow with my experience holding patience, understanding and clarity in a relaxed, calm energy.”

…and the fly flew away… And filming re-commenced with joy and ease!

We all experience self doubt - you are definitely not alone. It can really knock our socks off when we are stepping into something new and I’ve been doing a lot of that lately - I continue to find the above affirmation incredibly helpful - feel free to use it too!
