You can’t stop the waves

Have you heard the quote 'You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf!'?

It's so true, isn't it?!

“We really can’t stop the waves of our ever-changing world”

We really can't stop the waves of our ever-changing, dynamic world - oh yes, we may try to ignore what bubbles up, we may resist and sometimes even fight against the flow but in reality the waves are there and no amount of strength will stop them.

So what to do when the waves are looking bigger than ever?

Firstly, acknowledge how scared, overwhelmed, angry, confused (insert your emotion here) you may feel. This is your truth.

Secondly, be understanding and compassionate with yourself about your truth and look at what support and resources (internal and external) you have available.

Lastly, hold a vision for the future, ie not getting dumped but riding the waves!

What does it take to learn to surf (or anything new)?

Awareness, patience, resilience, support, courage and practice!

With so much change taking place for everyone on a global and personal level, we want to remind you how life challenges can be a gift. Extraordinary opportunities emerge from change and show us that it's possible to catch a beautiful wave after being dumped.

This doesn’t mean being unrealistically positive and glossing over the pain, in fact meeting yourself where you are at with compassion is necessary. Being honest with yourself. Expressing your emotions (energy in motion) getting support and guidance are allow a wiser, more resilient ‘you’ to emerge. X
